Typically, we begin recruiting for both graduate, school leaver and 12-month placement roles in October. Follow our social media channels as we will announce when the vacancies go live there.

Most trainee vacancies start in September although there is some scope to start people earlier depending on our business needs.

We enrol all of our trainees onto the Accountancy Apprenticeship to ensure that not only are you developing the knowledge needed to become a chartered accountant, but that you also have the opportunity to develop the skills, behaviours and commercial acumen that you will need to become a well-rounded business adviser. School Leavers will complete Levels 3 and 4, whilst Graduates will be enrolled onto the Level 7 course.

Parking is available for Manager grades and above at the Cheltenham office, alternatively you can use the park and ride, or we can advise which roads nearby are free to park. Parking is available for everyone at our Staverton office which is out of town.
Our dress code is pretty simple – dress appropriately. That means if you are going to a smart, corporate client or a factory, we would expect you to dress for the occasion. Whilst you are in the office, we’re a bit more relaxed – smart/work casual is fine.
Most people tend to bring their own food and eat in the breakout areas at lunchtime. Near the Staverton office there is a Tesco and Asda, and Sainsburys on the Gallagher retail park a short 5 minute drive in each direction. In Cheltenham there is a Co-op a two-minute walk away, or a Waitrose a 10-minute walk away.
Yes - Hazlewoods will reimburse for travel to clients for all staff, and for trainees, to study locations. Hazlewoods will also reimburse for subsistence and overnight stays. You will have access to the full policy on joining.
When you join Hazlewoods, you will be assigned a buddy who will be your support alongside your manager over your first few months while you settle in. They can assist you with any queries you may have. After four week you will have a review with HR to check how you have settled in, and to make sure you are happy with how your new role is going. At six weeks you will have a mid-probationary review with your manager, and at three months a probationary sign-off review. This will be where objectives are set and your progression plan can be marked out.
We use First Intuition as our study provider who are based in the centre of Bristol, walking distance from Temple Meads train station. We encourage classroom based learning as we feel this is the most efficient way to support you in your qualification. 
AAT - For our AAT apprentices, study is one day per week, usually on a Friday. The rest of the week is spent in the office, putting the theory into practise. 
ACA – For our graduates, study is broken into blocks, where you spend up to two weeks at a time for Certificate and Professional level. For your Advanced Level exams you spend around three weeks at a time on study with a mirrored amount of revision time for each exam. The rest of your time will be in the office putting your theory into practise. 
Yes, we provide time off for revision periods leading up to exams, and the day of the exam itself. 
We have a yearly appraisal system at Hazlewoods, where performance at work and in your qualification is all taken into consideration. Your salary increase will depend on your overall performance. 
When you join Hazlewoods, you will join as part of one team. We do offer a rotation system, where you have the option to apply to rotate for a specific team, for a fixed amount of time. This gives you a great opportunity to experience other teams, and other services that Hazlewoods provide.
