Start your accountancy career as soon as possible

If university isn’t the choice for you, Hazlewoods offers a Level 4 Apprenticeship to gain your AAT qualification. We support your journey and work alongside a first-class study provider to deliver the best possible teaching and support.

Our level 4 Apprentices study alongside work, attending classroom-based lessons one day per week at First Intuitions’ Bristol site. Having partnered with First Intuition for a number of years, we have been consistently delighted with the training and personal support that they provide. Tutors are approachable and supportive, giving regular feedback on progress to ensure you’re on the right track.

Hazlewoods pays for all associated study costs, give extra days off for revision and exams and pay all travel expenses.

Whether your interests lie in audit, tax or business advisory, we offer excellent professional experience to build your business skills alongside your theoretical knowledge and match you with a ‘buddy’ mentor to support you.

Once AAT is complete, we hope you will continue your journey with Hazlewoods and continue studying professionally. Those who join our level 4 Apprenticeship from school or college can expect to be a fully qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA) within five years, gaining valuable work experience throughout this time.

Harry Adams, ACA Trainee

Although I had a part-time job in a supermarket throughout sixth form, I still did not know what to expect from 'work life' – I did not even really know what an actual office looked like!

When we first started training, they offered a 'buddy' support, and it was helpful early on knowing you had someone to go to for anything and they would be there. As an ACA trainee, I am now a buddy to someone and we have got on so well, that we flat share in Cheltenham together!

I have found that if you are keen and willing to work hard, you really do get given opportunity at Hazlewoods.

The people are great. It is a young team and we all get on really well. I class people as friends rather than colleagues. The social life is good too, with lots of events and opportunities to get together after work.

Chloe Witheford, ACA Trainee

I started at Hazlewoods as an AAT trainee in February 2018. I recently completed my AAT level 3 and 4 and I am studying towards my ACA qualification.

I have really enjoyed studying for my AAT qualifications and look forward to continuing my studies further.

Making a difference

We are delighted to have been finalists in the 'Top Employer - Accounting and Professionals Services' category in the National Top Employers for School and College Leavers awards, organised by AllAboutSchoolLeavers.co.uk.

The winners were decided on the results of anonymous satisfaction surveys filled in by trainees and we came 6th! The surveys assessed opportunities for skills development, careers progression and salary. We were also finalists in two school leaver awards: ‘Top employer – accounting and professional services’ and ‘Best school leaver programme’.
