Vet and Pharmacy team charity walk in aid of Maggie's

Published: Friday 5 July 2019

On Wednesday 3 July, the Hazlewoods Vet and Pharmacy Team embarked on their charity walk in aid of Maggie’s and we could not have asked for more perfect weather for them! Glorious sunshine, some cloud and not too much heat were the perfect conditions for a walk around the Cotswolds. Suzanne Headington, Associate Partner, commented on the day:

“38 members of our team set off from The Air Balloon pub and after a short walk up the A417, we dived off into the beautiful countryside, in amongst the grass, trees and fantastic views.

“The walk was challenging…..lots of ups and downs which had been branded as being ‘undulating’, however I think we all agreed that the definition needs amending, with our ascents and descents being around 300 meters each!  We stopped for lunch at The Royal William in Cranham before setting off again via Painswick and our final destination at Foston’s Ash Inn.  All the pubs provided fantastic refreshments for our start, mid-way fuel up and celebratory end and staff were very helpful at taking team photos.

“We had a great time and whilst we had fun (and a lot of exercise), we were also raising money for a fantastic cause.  Donations were coming in through the day and the last thanks must go to the walkers and all our supporters who have donated so generously. Thank you!”

So far the team has raised over £2,700 for Maggie’s and you can still donate here. To keep up with the rest of our fundraising efforts, visit our community page here.
