International update: Are business leaders ready for the 2020s?

Published: Monday 13 January 2020

As we welcome a new decade, HLB, the international network of professional accounting firms and business advisers, has sought out insight into what the future holds for businesses during the 2020s. Working with 368 business leaders across five different continents, HLB has collated its findings about concerns and priorities for the coming years in their Inaugural Survey of Business Leaders.

In summary, a consensus revealed that a radical change is needed in for businesses order to keep up with technological advances in the coming 12 months; however, the survey demonstrates that business leaders are in no hurry to update their existing operational models. Business leaders agreed that 'operational effectiveness' was a priority above everything else and 87% of businesses surveyed have confidence in their ability to grow their business in the next 12 months.

Have these business leaders underestimated the extent to which their own firms will have to adapt and change in order to keep pace? For a full overview of the findings from the HLB Inaugural Survey of Business Leaders, download the report here
