HMRC to publish some CJRS information

Published: Monday 14 December 2020

HMRC has confirmed that it will begin to publish certain details of furlough claims made by employers under the coronavirus job retention scheme (CJRS) for December claims onwards.

The information will be published on Gov.UK and will include:

  • Company/LLP name
  • Company Registration Number
  • Indicative value of the claim made (within a banded range)

Furloughed employees that have an online personal tax account set up with HMRC will also be able to check if their employer has made a claim for them under the CJRS.

HMRC has confirmed that it will not publish details of employers claiming through the CJRS if it can be shown that doing so would result in a serious risk of violence or intimidation to certain relevant individuals, or an individual living with them.

Further information on the process requesting HMRC not to publish information is expected shortly. Evidence will need to be provided in support of the request, such as, a police incident number, photos, recordings or other documentary evidence of a threat or attack, or other evidence of possible targeting.
