Hazlewoods Run 1000

Published: Friday 13 September 2019

On Saturday 7 September 2019, Hazlewoods employees along with their family and friends took on the Hazlewoods Run 1000 challenge at Gloucester Athletics Club, raising money for Maggie’s.

The challenge to get as many people as possible running 10 kilometres was just one of a huge variety of activities taking place this year, as Hazlewoods aims to raise £100,000 for their chosen charity of the year.

Throughout the day participants ran, walked, skipped and trotted around the track while a variety of family activities took place in the middle.

A highlight from the day included the results of a 24-hour bake-a-thon, which were sold to many hungry runners from start to finish. Families were also treated to a visit from the local fire brigade, bouncy castles, a bucking bronco, and much more.

The day graced everyone with perfect conditions with only a few spots of rain which was much appreciated by the runners. For those who could not make it on the day and did not want to miss out, the challenge was opened up so they could still take part across London, Gloucestershire and even Ikea!

Partner, Andy Harris, said “We are so pleased with the turn out for the day and the huge amount of money raised from cake sales on the day and sponsorships from all the runners.

“Congratulations to all who took part and put in countless hours of training for the day, we couldn’t have done it without you all and the contributions from your family and friends.”

We are please to announce we have raised over £6,000 with sponsorship still coming in and money raised on the day!
